The Institute's Executive Board has lent its support to the introduction of an extra-curricular Summer & Autumn School Programme, in recognition of South Africa's existing conservation cohort – also to assist such practitioners' continued professional development.

It has been proposed that 2 – 4 such extra-curricular, 5-day courses be scheduled annually to coincide with the April and November trimester breaks, as observed by the postgraduate programme.

The soonest inception of the Summer School Programme will likely be April 2023. Please note that completion of certain, prescribed themes of the online, distance study programme, "Bridging to Chemistry for Conservation" (click here to view programme outline), will be set as entry prerequisite for entry to the Summer School Programme.
